Rasmus Hojlund, who recently joined the Red Devils in the summer transfer window, opened the scoring for Manchester United in the 17th minute. He skillfully converted a cross from Marcus Rashford to give his team the lead.

However, Galatasaray quickly equalized just six minutes later. Wilfred Zaha capitalized on a long ball played into the Galatasaray half, shrugged off Diogo Dalot’s challenge, and skillfully glided past Onana to level the score.

In the second half, Hojlund initially had a goal disallowed for offside in the 58th minute. However, he didn’t let that deter him, and in the 67th minute, he embarked on a blistering run from inside his own half and unleashed a powerful shot past Gala’s goalkeeper Fernando Muslera, giving Manchester United the lead once again.

But Galatasaray fought back quickly, just as they did in the first half. Barış Alper Yılmaz found the back of the net four minutes later, leveling the score once again.

To make matters worse for Manchester United, midfielder Casemiro was shown a red card for a foul in the penalty area, awarding Galatasaray a penalty. However, Mauro Icardi failed to convert from the spot, providing temporary relief for Erik ten Hag’s side.

Icardi redeemed himself later in the game when he scored the winning goal for Galatasaray nine minutes before full time, securing all three points for the visitors. Meanwhile, Manchester United is still searching for their first victory in this season’s UEFA Champions League campaign.
